Balihow – Starting Friday, August 1, 2025, select Citilink flight routes operating from Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport (HLP) will be rerouted to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK).
Specifically, Citilink flights to and from Palembang, Medan, and Kulon Progo will now operate from Soekarno-Hatta.
“Citilink fully supports this initiative as part of ongoing efforts to improve public service quality at both Halim Perdanakusuma and Soekarno-Hatta International Airports,” stated Tashia Scholz, Head of Corporate Secretary & CSR Division at PT Citilink Indonesia, in an official statement released to Kompas.com on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
Citilink routes currently operating from Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport include flights to and from Silangit, Malang, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Way Kanan, and Denpasar.
“Currently, Citilink is coordinating closely with all stakeholders, including regulators and airport operators, to implement this relocation policy effectively,” added Tashia Scholz.

Reasons for Airport Route Changes
Previously, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) Regional Office I confirmed that operational readiness for the transfer of flights between Batik Air and Citilink from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport was complete and scheduled to commence on Friday, August 1, 2025.
“All operational and technical aspects have been finalized, thanks to intensive coordination with airlines, especially Citilink and Batik Air,” reported Antara on Monday, July 28, 2025, citing Regional CEO of Regional Office I InJourney Airports, I Wayan Darma.
He emphasized that the process of transferring select flights from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Soekarno-Hatta Airport adheres to the highest standards of safety, security, and passenger service.

Wayan assured that these preparations are designed to optimize flight capacity at both Halim Perdanakusuma and Soekarno-Hatta Airports, while simultaneously elevating the quality of service provided to passengers.
“We ensure that the entire transfer process will be carried out gradually and systematically to avoid disrupting flight schedules or inconveniencing passengers. InJourney Airports has anticipated all possible technical issues in collaboration with stakeholders,” Wayan stated.
According to him, the operations of Halim Perdanakusuma and Soekarno-Hatta Airports are integrated and mutually supportive, aiming to deliver greater efficiency and an enhanced flying experience for air travel users.
“We would like to emphasize that Halim Perdanakusuma Airport will continue to serve Citilink, Batik Air, other commercial flights, as well as military and VVIP flights,” he added.
He reiterated that the relocation of flights from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Soekarno-Hatta is only partial. This initiative is intended to enhance efficiency and the overall quality of flight services at these airports.
“This transfer will support a more optimal and efficient distribution of flight frequencies, thereby improving air mobility at Halim and Soekarno-Hatta Airports, with a steadfast commitment to meeting all aspects of safety, security, and service for all users,” he said.
National airlines currently operating at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport include Citilink, Garuda Indonesia, Batik Air, Susi Air, and Fly Jaya.
Meanwhile, national airlines operating at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang are divided by terminal: Terminal 1 hosts Citilink, Lion Air, Indonesia AirAsia, Sriwijaya, NAM Air, and Airfast Indonesia (Charter); Terminal 2 includes Batik Air, Super Air Jet, and BBN Airlines (charter); and Terminal 3 is home to Garuda Indonesia, Pelita, and TransNusa.

For passengers affected by the airport transfer on these three routes, Citilink is offering refund options and providing shuttle buses for passenger transport from Halim Airport to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
