Medina Zein has been rebuilding her life since her release in October 2024 and has reactivated her social media presence.
In her latest TikTok video, the businesswoman, who served 2.5 years in prison for fraud and defamation, publicly apologized to those she had wronged.
Notably, she extended an apology to a former employee she had imprisoned for embezzlement.
“I once imprisoned one of my employees, resulting in a 4-year sentence. Back then, I was too focused on worldly happiness, believing it solely consisted of material possessions,” Medina Zein confessed in her TikTok video titled ‘My Regret Putting Someone in Jail’.
Medina acknowledged that she had hurt many people, even going so far as to imprison her employee back in 2017.
“He was wrong; he misused company funds amounting to billions of rupiah. I could have covered the losses at the time, but I still chose to imprison him without considering the impact on his family, who depended on him,” Medina explained.
“I am deeply sorry. I was incredibly arrogant then, even though I could have covered everything. I thought, ‘You used company money, you must go to jail’,” she continued.
Medina Zein Regrets Her Actions and Believes in Karma
The former wife of Lukman Azhari realizes that her remorse comes late. She now believes in karma, having experienced life behind bars herself.
“Suddenly, I found myself embroiled in disputes within one of my business ventures, facing legal troubles and ultimately imprisonment due to my words and business mistakes. I experienced what you went through, and I sincerely apologize,” Medina revealed.
“Now I know karma exists; what you felt, I felt too,” she added, her voice filled with regret.
Medina Zein admitted to extensive introspection during her time in prison, reflecting on her past actions.
This self-reflection allowed Medina to accept her prison sentence with grace. She is determined to become a better person after her release.
“Everything requires learning, lessons, and a process. I now believe I deserved this consequence. That’s why I served my 2.5 years willingly, knowing I had once been in the position of those I wronged,” she stated.
Medina also expressed gratitude for the support she received from fellow inmates and prison staff, who were kind and willing to listen to her stories.
Another blessing was the acceptance she found upon her release, with many people willing to help her change for the better.
“I never imagined people would still accept me after my release. I made so many mistakes,” she concluded.
