Balihow – The long-held aspiration for swift and efficient travel to iconic tourist destinations like Prambanan Temple is no longer just a dream. With the recent operationalization of the Solo-Yogyakarta-NYIA Kulon Progo Toll Road’s Klaten-Prambanan segment, travelers can now reach Prambanan Temple in a mere 15 minutes from the nearest toll gate. This exciting development was announced directly by PT Jasamarga Jogja Solo (JJS), the operator of this vital new toll section, which is set to introduce tariffs in the near future.
The opening of this toll segment is poised to be a significant catalyst for economic growth and tourism development across the vibrant Joglosemar region (Yogyakarta, Solo, and Semarang). He stated, “The presence of the Klaten-Prambanan Toll Road, connecting industrial and tourism zones in Central Java and Yogyakarta, is expected to facilitate logistics flow and shorten travel times for the community, thereby boosting local economic growth.” The public’s enthusiasm for this new toll road has been evident. During its functional operation periods for the 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays and the 2025 Eid al-Fitr festivities, the Klaten-Prambanan segment received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Road users who previously navigated the artery road for approximately 30 minutes now complete the same journey in about 10 minutes via the new toll road, showcasing its remarkable efficiency.
Competitive Tariffs Set to Begin
As part of its socialization efforts, PT JMJ has operated the Klaten-Prambanan segment tariff-free since July 2, 2025. However, tariffs will soon be implemented in accordance with Minister of Public Works Decree Number 683/KPTS/M/2025, dated July 22, 2025. The establishment of these tariffs considers the significant travel efficiencies gained by users, ensuring a competitive economic value when compared to the time and operational costs incurred on alternative artery routes.
