In the caption of his post, Ustaz Felix revealed that Steven Wongso had contacted him a year prior, expressing a desire to converse. “Of course, I was very happy, but unfortunately, it never happened due to our busy schedules,” Ustaz Felix wrote.
Ustaz Felix Siauw shared the moment Steven Wongso converted to Islam, explaining that they finally had the opportunity to talk this year when Steven visited YukNgajiHQ. According to Ustaz Felix, they discussed many things.
“We had a long conversation about life, worries, love, and most extensively, ‘How can religion be the answer to anxieties and mental torment in life?'” Ustaz Felix elaborated.
Ustaz Felix disclosed that Steven became a Muslim during Ramadan this year. “And this afternoon on the 23rd of Ramadan, thank God, Steven firmly decided to become a Muslim, reciting the Shahada in front of his close friends, and I am very happy to have been able to help guide Steven,” he wrote.
Prior to his conversion, Ustaz Felix noted that Steven had been studying Islam for a long time. “Steven had been practicing Islam long before, already understanding how to perform ablution (wudu), prayer (salat), and even fasting, making his embrace of Islam very easy,” he explained.
Ustaz Felix mentioned that Steven Wongso initially requested that his decision to convert be kept private. However, Ustaz Felix admitted that he couldn’t keep the good news a secret for too long.
“Steven asked that all of this be kept private, but I couldn’t resist sharing this good news with all of you, of course, with his permission,” Ustaz Felix shared.
